The Stig

For years people have wondered who is underneath the helmet of BBC Top Gear’s “tame racing driver”, The Stig.  Well, apparently all will be revealed on Top Gear tonight.

According to Jeremy Clarkson it will be a “staggering surprise” to viewers and that his director who has worked in TV for over 25 years said he had never seen anything like it.

Clarkson said “hardened, emotionless camera crews said the hair on the back of their neck prickled” and “As a television moment it’s up there with Neil Armstrong walking on the…corpse of JR Ewing.”

I suspect it’s just a way to boost ratings and that we’ll still not find out for sure who the Stig is.  I’ve always had theory that it’s changed loads of times over the years.
